Environmental Policy
OBJECTIVES
Brittwood Constructions is committed to delivering projects in accordance with best practice environmental management through every stage of project formulation, design, construction and operation. We aim to achieve sustained benefits and deliver optimal outcomes for the environment and the community.
Brittwood Constructions environmental objectives are to:
- identify and manage risks to and impacts on the environment arising from work activities; and
- foster environmental awareness and encourage a genuine respect for environmental protection within the team.
STRATEGY
In meeting these objectives Brittwood Constructions will:
- comply with and meet the relevant statutory and regulatory obligations and community Environmental standards and expectations;
- implement best applicable environmental protection techniques and construction methods to prevent pollution to air, water and land;
- promote the efficient use, reuse and recycling of resources and the minimisation of waste;
- identify environmental concerns and sensitivities and take a socially responsible attitude to the environment;
- develop, implement and maintain workable environmental management plans for the project;
- set relevant environmental targets in both the short term and long term;
- review and monitor our environmental objectives, targets, controls and performance;
- appoint suitable personnel responsible for the monitoring of environmental controls and performance;
- undertake a proactive approach to community involvement;
- Ensure team members have the skills, training and leadership to achieve our environmental objectives.
APPLICATION
Collectively we will demonstrate environmental leadership and will strive to continually improve our environmental performance, so that where possible we achieve a sustainable outcome and adverse environmental impacts are eliminated.
