Willawong Bus Depot
The new Willawong Bus Depot project for the Brisbane City Council involved building a bus area for 200 buses, an administration building, a workshop for bus servicing, refuelling facility, staff carparking area and associated works. Brittwood Constructions working under Managers Laing O’Rourke were responsible for completing the Civil Works. The project was completed in early 2009.
Flood Reconstruction - Lockyer Valley
In the aftermath of the January 10 2011 Floods, Brittwood Constructions applied to be on the panel of the Lockyer Regional Council for the civil work repairs needed in the region. Brittwood Constructions were one of those selected and have performed a large number of small and medium size jobs in that area. The floods which hit the Lockyer washed away many floodway’s’, culverts and blocked creeks. All of this needed repairing and Brittwood Constructions has reconstructed these structures.
Chung Tian Temple
Brittwood Constructions have recently completed the contract to construct carparking for the International Buddist Association of Queensland at the Chung Tian Temple at Priestdale. This project offered a number of Engineering challenges. A feature of this project was the construction of a curved precast panel Retaining Wall of up to 4.6 metres high, constructed to match a similar wall built in the previous stage and required to provide symmetry for the overall site. The scope of the work included provision for carparking for approx 150 vehicles, including associated drainage, services, landscaping and lighting.
Subdivision Mt Cotton
Silkwood Estate – Brittwood Constructions were appointed to complete the civil construction works for the Silkwood Estate offering an urban subdivision close to the city. Stage 1 of this subdivision comprised ~ 36 lots with a size of ~ 800 m² + – Completion 2009. Brittwood Constructions also completed the Cotton Ridge Estate comprising 176 Lots of average size ~1000m
Civil Works - Woorim
Brittwood Constructions have recently completed civil works at Jacana Avenue, Woorim on Bribie Island for the Moreton Bay Regional Council. The project involved the installation of stormwater pipes, new kerb and channel, revising the car parking layout, road pavement rehabilitation, new decorative footpaths to provide disabled access to all shops which was not available prior to the start of the works and upgrading of the street lighting.
As this project affected the livelihood of shop owners along Jacana Avenue, our Supervisor had to be aware of the need for not only Public access to the shops at all times but also the general safety of the public. From discussions with Council and Shop Owners, Brittwood Constructions satisfied these community requirements and produced a high quality project.
Subdivision
Silkstone Ipswich
Brittwood Constructions have recently completed 2 separate subdivisions at Silkstone in Ipswich. The first was a 24 lot subdivision in Thompson Street and the second was an adjoining 11 lot subdivision at the end of Cothill Road. Both jobs were constructed concurrently and this cooperation allowed for a very economical outcome. This was Brittwood’s first project in the rapidly expanding Ipswich City Council region.
Spring Bluff Service Road
The small community of Spring Bluff, just below Toowoomba gathered on the 21st of August to re-open their Railway Station serviced by a new two lane road. The tragic weather event of January 10, 2011 all but destroyed this picturesque railway station and surrounds and resulted in loss of life of some community members. Brittwood Constructions were selected by the Lockyer Valley Regional Council to construct this new road and it had to be completed in just 6 weeks as the re-opening date had already been set.
Brookwater Office Park Development
Work consisted of civil works for a 5 building Office Park development. Roughly 250m of internal roadworks were constructed with two site entries and a cul-de-sac head, stormwater drainage for the surface drainage with pick up points for the building drainage, bio-retention basins and services for the water and sewerage to each building - Completed 2008.
Subdivision Banyo
The Brisbane Housing Company's Earnshaw Haven development in Nudgee was the 1st master planned mixed tenure development in Queensland. Brittwood Constructions were appointed to complete the civil construction works located at 457 Earnshaw Road. The 41 lot residential subdivision consisted of Earthworks, Roadworks, Stormwater Drainage, Sewerage Reticulation and Water Reticulation. Brittwood Constructions were also required to tender & co-ordinate the construction of the Electrical Reticulation within their Contract.-completed 2008.
